Jim Edmonds Time As A Padre Numbered? |

 Is Jim Edmonds' on the verge of being released? It wouldn't be unwarranted, batting a pathetic .181 with only 1 home run and 6 RBI this season.
Kevin Towers joined Scott and BR on their morning show on XX1090 AM this morning to discuss the future of this Padres team and any possible roster moves that may be on the horizon. Towers did not name names specifically but did indicate that some changes were in fact in store for this lackluster offense. Following his discussion of Edmonds on-field performance, or lack there of, Towers noted that their will perhaps be some call-ups from the minor leagues that will happen at the end of this week that may see immediate playing time. Most speculation is that 31 year old Jody Gerut may be that player who gets the call and gets thrown into the mix right away.
Gerut is a veteran left-handed outfielder who is on a tear down in the minors. Currently he is batting .323 with 5 home runs and 17 RBI. Granted it is the minors, but with these type of numbers and the lack of production currently on the Major League roster, there is no reason Jody should still be taking swings down in AAA.
Expect that to be one of many roster shake-ups this weekend. Something needs to be done and quick. Being the worst team in baseball is not enjoyable for anyone. |

Petco Park Ranks 11th Out of 30 |

According to the recent Sports Illustrated fan survey of the best ballparks in baseball, Petco Park came in at #11. Petco Park received the highest mark in neighborhood which isn't much of a surprise being that it is in San Diego, America's Finest City.
